Since 1982
A Journey into Knowledge
Born as a natural evolution of the path initiated by the Ligabue Study and Research Center as early as 1982, Ligabue Magazine is now published by the Fondazione Giancarlo Ligabue, continuing a long tradition of scientific and cultural outreach.
The history of the Magazine
Over time, the magazine has evolved in its content, imagery, and graphic design, while preserving the original spirit that defines it.
In more than forty years of publication, the Ligabue Magazine has built a rich and multifaceted legacy: 580 bilingual articles, more than 269 contributors, over 15,000 images, and thousands of subscribers across more than 30 countries on five continents.
With two issues per year and over 150 pages in Italian and English, the magazine has become much more than a publication: a collectible object and a true library devoted to anthropology, paleontology, archaeology, biology, and culture.
How an issue of the Ligabue Magazine comes to life
Each issue is conceived as a journey—an exploration that crosses geographies and centuries, moving through art, anthropology, history, biology, the environment, and sustainability, with special attention to Venice, its stories, and its identity.
A legacy that reflects consistent and passionate work, continuing to guide the editorial project through a well-established vision. Today, this perspective turns toward the challenges of the present, with the aim of shaping a narrative of life and beauty that fosters an increasingly conscious approach to knowledge, attentive to sustainability and the impact of our actions.
