Free admission by reservation only

On the occasion of the public opening of the Palazzo delle Arti e delle Culture and the 2026 Biennale, the Fondazione Ligabue also inaugurates its first artist residency, further strengthening its ongoing dialogue with the themes it has long explored.

The first artist in residence is Marta Spagnoli (Verona, 1994), who has been working since early February in a studio specially set up at the Fondazione Ligabue, developing a group of works created in direct relation to and in dialogue with the Collection.

Presentazione

The artist weaves together organic, mythological, and anthropomorphic elements within the evolving space of the canvas, where color and material overlap, reactivating these presences as signs, silhouettes, and movements—almost as if they were resurfacing from a deeper, shared memory that runs through human history. Universal forms, such as those belonging to the animal and plant worlds, remain recognizable beyond cultural and linguistic boundaries, leaving traces and gradually settling over time.
