Presentazione

A journey into the world of Oceanic clubs, exploring their sculptural beauty and deeper meaning. An exhibition project organized by the Fondazione Giancarlo Ligabue in collaboration with the Musée du quai Branly–Jacques Chirac in Paris. The aim of the exhibition is to reveal the full cultural complexity of these “clubs,” as sculptures, representations of deities, symbols of authority, as well as weapons.

The 126 works on display have been selected for their exceptional quality, rarity, and historical significance. Drawing from major European collections, including the British Museum in London, the Fondazione Ligabue highlights the extraordinary skill and creative imagination of 19th- and 20th-century sculptors from across Oceania.
